Summer Shopping and Foodie Penpals Box Of Goodies
Happy Tuesday!
Yesterday, Carter and I hit up Old Navy to help support the economy. Plus, it was a rainy, cool, miserable day and only shopping can brighten that up.
Well, shopping and Biscoff Spread. But shopping actually burns calories so I opted for that instead.
I’m usually not a huge fan of Old Navy’s clothing, other than activewear, tees, and lounge pants. It just never fits me well. It’s always too big or too small, too big in the legs, too saggy in the butt….But I actually had some luck yesterday and grabbed some really cute shorts.
I love the fit and style of these and bought them in khaki and periwinkle:
And these come in tons of colors. I bought them in white:
There is also a pretty muted pink color, but the other colors are really bold and kind of tacky, in my opinion. But I love the ones I purchased. I’m really picky with shorts so when I find some that I like, I grab them.
I bought these a few days ago, also from Old Navy.
So I’m on a roll for the warmer weather ahead! Next goal: make these ghost white legs not so white.
I also wanted to share with you my Foodie Penpals box that I received from Lori at Fit n’ Healthy Mama.
I was really excited to receive it.
I just love packages, especially when I know they are filled with yummy things. And WOW, did Lori do a great job.
Along with this sweet note that was also “signed” by her adorable son.
She sent me some homemade peanut butter granola:
This stuff was gone in no time – so good.
Two kinds of Dagoba chocolate bars:
New Moon Dark Chocolate:
Really loved this one
And a Lavender Blueberry Bar
Wasn’t so thrilled with this one. I WANTED to love it, I really did. But it sort of tasted like I was eating chocolate soap.
She sent me some delicious salsa…
And as you know from reading my blog, we are huge lovers of Mexican style food so I can’t wait to dig into this.
And last, but definitely not least….
Wow – this stuff was AMAZING! I say “was” because it was eaten in less than two days. Dark Choco Dream Fair Trade Chocolate Spread. You can buy it online, but I’ve never seen it at our local stores. Definitely keep your eyes out for it because it’s truly delicious. It’s made with all natural ingredients and is vegan.
Thank you so much, Lori! You sent me a delicious box of goodies and I truly appreciate the time you took to put it together for me!

If you are interested in being part of Foodie Penpals, here is some info: Foodie Penpals
It’s super easy to sign up and Lindsay does an amazing job of organizing the entire thing. You basically email her, tell her you want to participate, and she pairs you up with a penpal. That easy!
You can do this one time, two times, or every time if you wish. It’s totally up to you. I participated in February, but won’t be doing it again in March. I’ll definitely participate again in the future – it was fun, I received some delicious treats, and connected with two new bloggers. Give it a try!
Tell Me:
Have you participated in Foodie Penpals?
What treats would your dream package be filled with?
One thing I sent to my penpal: Biscoff Spread. I had to. The stuff is seriously amazing.
Until tomorrow,
Lindsay

Foodie Pen Pals is such a cute idea! Love what you got from your package, dagoba chocolate is good! The card is so sweet too!
Old Navy I do find stuff there every once in a while, I did find the super cute scarf and hat there when I was in SanFran!
Happy Tuesday! <3
I remember that hat because I bought the same one! I remember I wanted it in gray, but it was sold out so I bought the cream colored set, too
I loved the sequins!
Old Navy is the same for me….nothing seems to fit quite right! But when you can find something good it is so nice because its always a great price! That foodie pen pal package is awesome! I might need to get involved with that next month!!!
You should definitely do it Kaila! I enjoyed sending my package and getting one. I’m definitely going to do another one in the future
Yeah! I’m so glad you like your package! I got the dark cocoa spread at Whole Foods. I’ll have to send another one your way…when I pick one up for myself!
LOVE those shorts! The denim one is so cute & calling my name!
I’ll have to check Whole Foods! Though I spend a lot of time in the nut butter section and haven’t seen it.
Is that where you found it or was it in another part of the store?
It was the nut butter section – top shelf! They had other “flavors” too.
Ahhh- so glad you had a good time! Foodie Penpals is awesome. It’s so difficult picking out the package though. Not everyone likes what you may like, unfortunately!
I enjoyed doing it! I gave my penpal a jar of Biscoff spread (does anyone NOT like that stuff?), several packets of justin’s nut butters, sunflower seed butter, some tea, Clif Bars, and a huge huge HUGE cookie.
Absolutely LOVE those shorts, especially the denim ones!
Thanks! I thought they were really cute! And they look like denim, but they’re actually a chambray material so they’re super lightweight. I just love the way they fit! I was pretty impressed with their selection of shorts this year. I was there a few weeks ago and they didn’t have many shorts to choose from. The ones they did have looked AWFUL on me. I’m so glad they had more to choose from
